![]() This third season of the “Produce 101” series was highly anticipated, considering the first two seasons were able to launch the careers of many, as the winners debuted as members of IOI (Season one) and Wanna One (Season two), which both became successful K-Pop idol groups. She trained for eleven months before her biggest break came, when she joined Mnet’s “Produce 48” to have a shot at becoming one of 12 in the group that the show was planning to debut. She appeared in her label mate Golden Child’s official music video (MV) for the song entitled “Let Me,” released on 4 July 2018 and which garnered two million views. Years passed before she eventually became a trainee for Woollim Entertainment, which is home to popular idol groups such as Infinite and Lovelyz. Her first taste of what it was like to perform in front of an audience was in 2012, when she participated in KBS’ Korea Children’s Song Contest. It has been a dream of hers since she was young to become a K-Pop (Korean Pop) girl group member. She currently attends Hanlim Multi Art School. On March 9th, a new version of English DJ and producer Jonas Blue's 2018 song " RISE" was released featuring IZ*ONE. On January 20, 2019, they held their Japanese debut show at Tokyo Dome City Hall to promote their debut single " Suki to Iwasetai." The music video for the song was released five days later and surpassed five millions views on YouTube within a week. On December 6, 2018, it was announced that IZ*ONE would be making their Japanese debut with a single on Februunder Universal Music Japan's label, EMI Records. The "WIZ" in the name is also meant to signify the "magical future" fans will be sharing with them. During the showcase the group also announced their official fanclub name would be WIZ*ONE, meaning "we are one". Two hours after the mini-album's release, the group held their sold-out debut showcase "show-con", where they performed their lead track. The music video for their lead track, " La Vie en Rose" (French for "life in pink"), surpassed 1 million views in three hours and 40 minutes. ![]() The album sold a total of 34,295 copies on its first day, breaking and nearly doubling the previous the record held for the highest debut album sales on the Hanteo chart for a girl group. IZ*ONE debuted on Octowith the Korean mini-album COLOR*IZ. That same day, it was reported that the group would make their official debut on October 29th, though their agency stated the exact date had not yet been set. On September 4th, the group flew to Japan to meet with producer Akimoto Yasushi. ![]() On the day of the final broadcast, along with the reveal of the chosen 12 girls, the name of the final group was announced to be IZ*ONE. From Jto Augfor a total of twelve episodes, 96 girls competed to debut in a project group of 12-members. ![]()
